Description

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream

But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once
The way you did once upon a dream

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, that gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream

Okay, i seriously have no idea where to begin with this. I said in my Smaug picture that i was drawing my childhood dragons. Well here's another one of them that does indeed fall under the "childhood category". Maleficent is #2 on the top 5 list. Maleficent made a huge impact on my life as she was the first dragon I laid eyes on. Her dragon form isn't the only reason she's number 2. Maleficent always fascinated me as a child. She was scary but she held such regal grace. At that age I always pictured 'bad people' to have zero self control and care very little of their own appearance. Not Maleficent. She was beautiful in her own way. She had suck a regal frame that screamed respect. She moved with calculated grace and that's what made her scary. She was calm and polite. She's the perfect villain in my eyes.
I also liked her voice.
Maleficent is what actually sparked my sudden desire to draw my childhood dragons. Seeing the 2014 trailer for 'Maleficent' really started it all. I am so pumped for that film guys!
I also looked around on the web to see any art of this dragon and none of them quite cut the cake in my opinion so I said I would make her look the way she was supposed to. How I saw her. :)
Now as for the picture. I'm guesstimating 5 layers on this bad girl and more than 10-12 hours worth of work put into it. I took my time on this one and enjoyed every minute of it. I also used my own brushes to work on this.
ENJOY! cause i sure as hell did. I am proud of myself for this. :)

4 stars for originality because i thought its a little reminiscent of the dragon maleficent who is described as a purple-black dragon with large black horns and glowing green eyes but other than that its amazing! i love the style and its of great quality and detail and a great concept. I also love the green background it really makes the piece stand out. although I would hold of just a little bit on the smudging around the eyes and nostrils. Now i realize my art cant hold a candle to yours but i am personally a dragon encyclopedia, but you dont have to take my advice if you dont want too. but thanks for at lest reading it anyway
